ROLES IN THE ENVIRONMENT
Pollinators are an integral part of maintaining all life on earth.
These species help to sustain an ecosystem while producing our natural resources by facilitating the development of seeds.
Through spreading pollen and fertilizing plants, pollinators such as bees, birds, and moths aid in the propagation of vegetation.

Seeders (or seed distributors) act as a branch of pollinators.
These species such as birds and bats disperse seeds through the waste they produce which promotes more diversity in an ecosystem.
All plant-eaters generally have this role in an ecosystem.
However, animals that can travel longer distances (through migration and flight) have a wider impact.

These creatures are responsible for mitigating the number of species that are invasive through competition, predator status, pathogens and parasites.
Typically pest controllers such as spiders,
lizards, and snakes are gentle creatures
unless irritated.

The rule of thumb is
they are more
scared of you than
you are of them.

Respect their territory and only intervene in the event of a relocation or emergency (contact professional assistance).

Indicators are in abundance when an ecosystem is healthy. These species thrive in a well-balanced and safe setting as they need very specific conditions in order to survive.

Indicators include (but are
not limited to) wildlife
such as green tree frogs
and dragonflies.
Their fragility means that
any changes to their
surroundings or introduced
hazards such as toxins can
quickly destroy their habitat
and put their lives at risk.

A significant part of the life cycle is death. From rotting produce, leaf litter to decaying organisms, every living being will be reintroduced into the cycle of life once they pass.
Insects like ants act as waste disposers to take what is degenerating and use this material as fuel or building resources.

These species are essential to the environment as they remove the waste and allow for the environment to thrive. Waste disposers may include but are not limited to termites, ants and flies.

Composters act as an upcycle phase, utilising the leftover waste by recycling that material to help enrich the soil.
These species, such as mushrooms, worms, and beetles use the waste from compost and excrements to develop an environment's biodiversity.
Though they may seem small,
composters affect all aspects
of a healthy ecosystem.
Produce farmers have felt
the negative impacts when
the soil has been overworked
and reflects poor levels of
biodiversity.
Entire crops decline their yield
and quality of the produce.
